This week, Sidmouth Folk Week takes place, ending on Friday 6th August. This festival includes concerts, ceilidhs (Celtic dances) and displays. Henri Lloyd Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta finishes this Friday as well – nearly 300 boats enter this regatta annually, with around 550 sailors taking part.

Powderham Castle at Exeter is celebrating Pirate Week, Dartmouth Castle presents an open air version of Macbeth until this Saturday, and on Thursday 5th August, Plymouth is hosting a Help for Heroes Bike Night on Hoe Promenade. This event will be held monthly to raise money for the charity.

Dartmouth Folk Festival takes place this weekend, starting Friday 6th. This year’s festival will include a fayre, craft displays, dances and a music hall. And if you own a boat, why not go along to the ‘Rock the Boat’ party on Friday 6thAugust? Starting on the water at Torridge Estuary and ending in Bar Toko at Barnstaple, the party is held in aid of the RNLI. All ages welcome for the boat party (strictly over 18s only for the after party in the bar).

Finally, if you love steam traction engines, be sure not to miss Torbay Steam Fair this weekend (6th-8th). This event will also be raising money for charity.
