Cornish Summer Events | August Events Cornwall | Steam Rally | Bude Carnival |Porthleven Lifeboat Day
There’s still plenty going on in Cornwall this week – Fowey Regatta and Carnival finishes this Saturday, 21 August, and the Mining Villages Festival in Redruth finishes on Sunday 22. SaltFest – Saltash’s Summer Music Festival - starts on Friday 20 August (ending Sunday 22) and is absolutely free! The event will cater for a wide range of musical tastes, and if the weather is fair, the event will also include outdoor activities and fun events.
The West of England Steam Rally also starts on Friday 20 and finishes on Sunday 22 – this event takes place at Stithians Showground and includes over 50 full-size steam engines, vintage vehicles, heavy horses and a traditional fairground.
Bude Carnival takes place on Saturday 21 August, with a Fancy Dress Competition, Children’s Walking Parade and Fairy Queen Competition. Also on Saturday 21 is the Cornish Country Fayre and Farmers’ Market at Wadebridge – including dog agility, alpacas and Cornish music and dancing.
Also, don’t forget that Sunday 22 August is both Porthleven Lifeboat Day and Padstow Lifeboat Day.
